ANZ service partnership and auditor changes

Overview

ANZ has announced significant changes to its service partnerships as part of its ‘ANZ 2030 strategy’. The bank is ending its relationship with KPMG as its external auditor, a role held by the firm since 1969. This decision to open the contract for tender is intended to support the bank’s transformation agenda and the planned integration of Suncorp Bank. A new auditor is expected to be in place by the 2029 financial year, and KPMG will not be eligible to participate in the tender process.

In a separate development, ANZ has reappointed PHD as its media buying and planning agency partner in Australia. Following a competitive review that evaluated agencies on strategic capability, technological maturity, and commercial delivery, PHD was selected to continue managing media strategy, audience planning, and campaign optimisation.
