Aomori delegation wins three gold medals at National Sports Festival

The 80th National Sports Festival, known as the ‘Aomori Kokuspo’, continued its ninth day of competition on October 18. The Aomori delegation secured four medals, including three gold and one bronze.

Notable achievements included the Aomori women’s adult kendo team winning their first championship by defeating Kyoto 3-0. Additionally, gold medals were earned in boys' individual karate kumite and adult women's individual karate kata. In judo, the adult men’s team secured a third-place finish after defeating Chiba.

As of the end of the day, Aomori remains 5th in the overall men’s and women’s standings. Tokyo has already secured the overall victory for both the men’s and women’s categories.
