Aomori National Sports Festival: Kyoto delegation announced

The Kyoto Prefecture Sports Association has announced its delegation for the 80th National Sports Festival, known as the ‘Ao no Kirameki Aomori Kokuspo,’ which will be held in Aomori Prefecture. The event includes pre-period competitions from October 2 to 9, followed by the main festival.

Regarding the competition's history, data shows a strong trend where the host prefecture wins the Emperor's Cup, which is awarded to the top performer in the overall men's standings. Since 2000, the host prefecture has secured the title in 18 out of 24 competitions, an 80 percent success rate. In the current festival, Aomori Prefecture currently ranks 10th in both the Emperor's Cup and the Empress's Cup (for women's standings) following the conclusion of winter and pre-period events.
