Aomori National Sports Festival pre-period competitions underway

Pre-period competitions for the ‘Ao no Kirameki Aomori’ National Sports Festival took place on September 10 and 11 across various venues in Aomori.

In swimming, Yua Goto of Toyo University secured second place in the women's 100m butterfly with a time of 58.71 seconds. In golf, Kaito Kumegaya of Nihon University finished as runner-up in the men's adult individual category with a total score of 138, six under par.

Other notable results included Hibiki Hasegawa from Shibata Gakuen High School placing 8th in the boys' 10m air rifle event. In rowing, Saiko Kinoda of Meiji Yasuda Life advanced to the semifinals in the women's single sculls, while the Aomori men's coxed four team also secured a spot in the semifinals. In the women's golf category, the highest ranking achieved was 15th place.
