AP-4 highway collision causes major traffic delays near Los Palacios

A multi-vehicle collision involving four cars occurred on the AP-4 highway near Los Palacios, Seville, on Friday, August 14. The accident, reported around 11:30 AM at kilometer seven, resulted in significant traffic congestion, with seven kilometers of delays toward Seville and five kilometers toward Cádiz. Emergency services, including the Guardia Civil and 061, responded to the scene, where the left lane toward Seville was closed. Two potential injuries are awaiting confirmation.

The incident coincides with the start of the ‘15 de agosto’ operation, a special traffic control period. Authorities expect over 148,000 long-distance trips on the roads of Cádiz province through Sunday, August 16. High traffic intensity is anticipated on several routes, including the A-396, A-4, and AP-4. Due to ongoing construction at the Tres Caminos junction, alternative routes such as the A-390 and A-381 have been suggested to alleviate congestion.
