Traffic incidents and congestion in Andalusia

Overview

During the ‘15 de agosto’ special traffic operation in Andalusia, several road incidents and heavy congestion were reported. On August 14, a multi-vehicle collision on the AP-4 highway near Los Palacios caused significant delays, with traffic backing up seven kilometers toward Seville and five kilometers toward Cádiz.

By August 16, reports indicated that a fatal accident occurred in Paterna de Rivera, Cádiz, where a vehicle left the roadway, resulting in one death and one minor injury. Throughout the mid-August holiday period, heavy traffic congestion persisted across the region, with queues on the AP-4, A-49, and A-4 highways reaching up to 20 kilometers.
