Apartment building fire in Broumov causes smoke inhalation

A large fire broke out in an apartment building on the outskirts of Broumov in the Náchod district on Wednesday morning. Flames were visible from the windows of one of the apartments when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters rescued four people from the building, while four others evacuated themselves prior to the arrival of emergency services. Six residents were treated for smoke inhalation; two adults and two minors were transported to a hospital in Náchod without burns. Two other individuals were treated at the scene.

The fire, which originated on the second floor, was localized by 10:48 and fully extinguished by 12:24. Damages are estimated at approximately 1.5 million CZK. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by police and fire officials.
