Putin to meet Xi Jinping at APEC summit in Shenzhen

Russian President Vladimir Putin is confirmed to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen, scheduled for November 18-19, 2026.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that while the leaders are aware of the possibility of a trilateral meeting involving U.S. President Donald Trump, no concrete preparations or practical work have commenced for such an encounter. The feasibility of a three-way summit remains contingent upon Trump's participation in the China-hosted event. Ushakov noted that as the host, President Xi Jinping would likely initiate the process for such a meeting by proposing a draft program for the summit.
