APEMETA hosts workshop to boost São Tomé and Príncipe business capacity

The Portuguese Association of Environmental Technology Companies (APEMETA) conducted a workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of entrepreneurs in São Tomé and Príncipe. This initiative is part of a cooperation protocol with the Network of Incubators and Accelerators of São Tomé and Príncipe (REINA).

The program focuses on identifying business opportunities in environmental and sustainability sectors, including waste management, water treatment, energy, sustainable tourism, and sustainable agriculture. The goal is to facilitate partnerships between companies from both nations, helping São Toméan entrepreneurs define objectives and prepare for collaborations with Portuguese partners.

APEMETA representatives noted that many Portuguese micro and small enterprises possess products and services that are highly applicable to the São Toméan context. Key areas for potential cooperation include the blue economy, waste utilization, and water treatment solutions tailored for local communities and hotel units.
