APIA announces agricultural subsidies and insurance deadlines
The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) has announced several financial support programs and application deadlines for Romanian producers in late 2026.
Viticultural producers can submit applications for grape harvest insurance (ISV-03) until October 15, 2026. The support covers 80% of insurance premiums for losses caused by natural disasters and 50% for other climatic, animal, or pest-related issues. Eligible producers must manage at least 0.1 hectares of authorized vineyards registered in the Viticultural Plantations Register.
Additionally, APIA is accepting applications from October 12 to November 6, 2026, for emergency financial aid to compensate for corn and sunflower crop losses caused by the 2025 soil drought. A total budget of over 155 million lei has been allocated, with a maximum support amount of 333 lei per hectare.
Furthermore, APIA is scheduled to begin paying 75% advances on 2026 subsidies starting October 16, 2026. These payments apply to various schemes, including basic income support (BISS), redistributive support (CRISS), and support for young farmers.
