APIA distributes livestock subsidies and opens viticulture funding in Romania

The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) has initiated payments to livestock breeders in Romania. A total of 2,131,741.06 lei is being distributed to cover breed improvement services performed during the summer of 2026. These funds, sourced from the state budget via the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, aim to support administrative and technical costs related to production performance monitoring and genealogical record management.

In a separate development regarding the viticulture sector, APIA has made 11,044,419 euros available for investments in 2026. These funds are split between two interventions: investments in tangible and intangible assets (IS-V-02) and investments aimed at enhancing wine production sustainability (IS-V-07).

As of September 25, 2026, interest in these funds remains low. Only 12 funding applications have been submitted, totaling 4,166,842.75 euros. The application period for these viticulture grants is scheduled to close on October 19, 2026.
