APIA to begin agricultural subsidy advance payments in Romania

The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) will begin authorizing advance payments for the 2026 agricultural subsidy campaign on October 16. The payment period is scheduled to run through November 30, 2026.

Under the guidelines established by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Order no. 288/2026, advances will be distributed based on the funding source. Interventions financed by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) are eligible for advances of up to 75% of the total amount, while those financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR) can receive up to 85%.

Estimated advance amounts for specific schemes include approximately 75.77 euro per hectare for Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS), 41.77 euro per hectare for Complementary Redistributive Income Support (CRISS), and 41.52 euro per hectare for support targeting young farmers. These funds are intended to assist farmers with autumn agricultural expenses, such as soil preparation, seed acquisition, and fuel costs.
