Apidya’ Special remake set for August 2026 release

Apidya’ Special, a complete remake of the 1992 Commodore Amiga shoot-’em-up classic, is scheduled for release on August 25, 2026. Developed by Team Apidya and published by ININ Games, the title will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

The remake is built from the ground up without emulation, offering both modern widescreen HD graphics and a classic 4:3 aspect ratio. It features five thematic worlds, 20 bosses, and new content such as a cooperative mode where a second player controls a fully equipped bee. Players can also utilize optional CRT shaders and scanline simulations to enhance the retro experience.

To celebrate the launch, ININ Games has released a countdown trailer and announced physical editions for the Nintendo Switch. These include a Limited Edition boxed version and a Special Edition featuring a history artbook and a two-CD soundtrack collection by composer Chris Hülsbeck, containing original Amiga recordings and new studio versions.
