Aplausos de Pie initiative launched to rebuild Venezuelan art academies

A coalition of cultural organizations has launched ‘Aplausos de Pie’, a solidarity initiative aimed at rebuilding at least 10 art academies and training spaces damaged by earthquakes in Venezuela on June 24.

The group, comprising Impetu Dance Studio, CLAS Producciones, La Escuela Centro de Formación Cultural, and Impetu Producciones (IPRO), is working to assess damages and secure materials for reconstruction. The project has partnered with a construction company and a hardware store to facilitate inspections and manage donations.

Organizers aim to begin the construction phase between mid-August and September. Donations can be made through the ‘Aplausos de Pie’ web portal, which will allow for the auditing of funds to ensure transparency in how contributions are used to support the recovery of the cultural sector.
