Appia Antica Park: Fox cub saved from attempted hanging by youths

A group of youths attempted to hang a fox cub within the Appia Antica Regional Park in Rome. The animal was saved after a passing runner intervened, causing the group to flee the scene.

The fox cub has been taken to the LIPU wildlife recovery center in Rome for veterinary care and observation. The Appia Antica Park authority expressed deep indignation over the incident, describing it as a “barbaric and senseless tragedy” that harms the community and highlights the need for better education regarding empathy and respect for nature.

Local authorities and park officials are currently working together to identify and locate those responsible for the attack to ensure the act does not go unpunished.
