Apple adds iPad, Apple Watch to AppleCare+ theft/loss plan in Japan
Apple announced that its AppleCare+ theft and loss protection, previously limited to iPhone, will now cover iPad and Apple Watch for customers in Japan. The new plan offers both monthly and one‑year subscription options, allowing up to two claims per year for each device, subject to a service fee per claim and the requirement that the device’s “Find My” feature be active at the time of loss.
The coverage also includes battery‑replacement service, unlimited repairs for accidental damage using genuine Apple parts, and priority support from Apple specialists. Pricing varies by model: iPad monthly fees range from ¥780 to ¥1,580 (annual ¥7,800‑¥15,800), while Apple Watch monthly fees range from ¥480 to ¥980 (annual ¥4,800‑¥9,800). The expansion follows a recent price increase for AppleCare+ on iPad and Mac models.
