Apple expands post‑purchase services

Entities: France · Apple Watch · Apple Inc. · Germany · Bob Borchers

Overview

Apple’s 2026 post‑purchase service rollout continued on 27 July with the launch of AppleCare One in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Australia, effective 4 August. The subscription covers up to three eligible devices, includes theft‑and‑loss protection, unlimited accidental‑damage repairs, battery replacement, priority support and three theft‑or‑loss claims per year, priced at £16.99 per month in the UK, €20.99 per month in France and Germany, and AU$29.99 for three devices.

In the United States Apple introduced the Apple Upgrade leasing programme, powered by Klarna, replacing the earlier iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Payments. Customers can lease iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac for 12‑24 months (phones and watches) or 24‑36 months (iPad, Mac) with monthly payments starting at $17.99 for an iPhone, $11.99 for an Apple Watch or iPad, and $24.99 for a Mac. A soft credit check is required, Apple Card holders receive 3 % Daily Cash back, and AppleCare can be added separately. The service is currently limited to the United States.

Together these moves broaden Apple’s insurance, subscription and leasing options across multiple markets.
