Apple launches Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 with S11 chip
Apple has launched the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, introducing significant internal upgrades despite a largely familiar design. Both models feature the new S11 chip, which powers enhanced AI capabilities and more responsive performance.
A major focus of this generation is health and wellness. The new Health Sensing System enables more frequent heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, with HRV readings occurring up to 24 times more often than previous models. This data feeds into a new Readiness score, which provides personalized suggestions for activity levels based on sleep, recent training, and vitals.
Audio Intelligence is another key addition, utilizing an updated microphone array to allow for features like Live Rewind, which provides text transcriptions of recent conversations. The Series 12 offers various materials, including the return of ceramic in pearl white and night blue, while the Ultra 4 maintains its rugged titanium build and offers extended battery life of up to 74 hours.
While the hardware offers substantial improvements in sensor precision and AI integration, some regions may face delayed availability of certain AI features. The Series 12 also features improved charging speeds, capable of providing 12 hours of use from a 15-minute charge.
