Apple introduces HomePod mini 2 with S10 chip

Apple has announced the HomePod mini 2, scheduled for release on October 30, 2026. The updated compact smart speaker features a new S10 chip designed to enhance computational audio by analyzing music in real time to optimize dynamic range, volume, and acoustics.

Beyond audio improvements, the device is positioned as a central smart home hub within the Apple ecosystem. It can function as a standalone speaker, a stereo pair, a Mac speaker, or a home hub. Notably, when paired with a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, four HomePod mini 2 units can be configured into a four-channel surround sound system that automatically calibrates audio timing and levels based on room positioning.

The HomePod mini 2 will be available in five colors with a suggested retail price of €169.
