Apple launches AirPods 5 with improved ANC and H2 chip
Apple has introduced the AirPods 5, offering an open-fit design without silicone ear tips. The new lineup features improved active noise cancellation (ANC), which Apple claims is up to 50% more effective than previous generations, and enhanced audio quality driven by the H2 chip.
The product is available in two configurations. The base model includes a USB-C charging case and is priced at $129 in the US. The premium variant includes a wireless charging case, volume swipe controls on the stems, and a built-in speaker for the Find My app, priced at $149.
Compared to the AirPods Pro 3, which retail for $249, the AirPods 5 provide a more affordable alternative for users who prefer an open ear design. While the Pro 3 models offer superior noise isolation, longer battery life, and health features like heart rate sensors, the AirPods 5 include essential features such as adaptive audio, IP57 durability, and spatial audio.
