Apple introduces new Wallet features in iOS 27
Apple is introducing several new features to the Wallet app with the release of iOS 27, powered by Apple Intelligence.
One major update allows the Wallet app to automatically track online orders. By using Siri and Apple Intelligence to analyze confirmation emails in the Mail app, the system can extract details such as the retailer, order number, products, price, and shipping information. This feature works for orders made via various payment methods, including PayPal, Klarna, and credit cards, not just Apple Pay. It also provides real-time delivery status updates if a tracking number is present in the email.
Additionally, iOS 27 introduces a bill-splitting feature. Users can point their iPhone camera at a receipt, and Apple Intelligence will make the individual items selectable. This allows users to quickly determine their share of a bill and request payments from contacts via Apple Cash. The update also enables users to create customized Wallet items, such as digital passes for gyms or other services.
