Apple iOS updates enable instant ringtone setting and introduce Call Context

Apple has added a built‑in method for creating custom iPhone ringtones directly from the Files app. Users need only a short MP3 or M4A file of up to 30 seconds, tap the file, choose “Set as ringtone,” and the tone is saved without third‑party apps, a computer, or iTunes. Songs from Apple Music cannot be used.

The upcoming iOS 27 release will include “Call Context,” an Apple Intelligence feature that automatically pulls relevant information—such as booking codes or airline details—from other apps and displays it on the screen during business calls. The tool works in English only on devices that support Apple Intelligence, aiming to streamline commercial phone interactions.
