Apple iOS Users Confront iCloud Storage Limits as WhatsApp Adds iPad Account Feature

Apple’s iOS devices do not gain additional internal storage when iCloud storage is purchased. iCloud provides cloud backup and can optimise local space, but it cannot extend the device’s built‑in capacity. Users with 64 GB iPhones or iPads must manage existing data or use iCloud‑photo optimisation to free space.

WhatsApp has rolled out a new capability for iPad users: the app now allows the creation of a fresh WhatsApp account directly on the iPad, without needing a linked phone. After updating to the latest version on iOS 15.1 or newer, users can set up a new account and start chatting, calling, and sharing files. The feature is being released gradually, so availability may vary.
