Apple iPhone 18 Pro battery life and app management

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models offer distinct battery performance profiles. The iPhone 18 Pro Max provides up to 43 hours of video playback, which is 9 hours more than the iPhone 18 Pro's 34-hour capacity. While the Pro Max is better suited for heavy users involving 5G and long video recording, the standard Pro model is capable of lasting a full day for typical tasks such as messaging, social media, and web browsing.

Both models support fast charging via Power Delivery 3.2, capable of reaching a 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes, and support MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. In high-intensity testing, the iPhone 18 Pro maintained over 16 hours of continuous 5G web browsing at medium brightness.

Regarding battery maintenance, Apple advises against the habit of frequently closing background applications to save power. The company states that the system automatically manages resources and that manually closing apps is only necessary if they become unresponsive. Constantly restarting apps can actually lead to increased energy consumption as they must reload data and restart processes.
