Apple is preparing to launch the second‑generation iPhone Air in the first quarter of 2027, with most analysts expecting a March release alongside the base iPhone 18 models. The device will retain the 6.5‑inch display of its predecessor but feature a smaller Dynamic Island cut‑out, freeing additional screen space.

The Air 2 will add a dual‑camera rear system, pairing the existing 48 MP main sensor with a new 48 MP ultra‑wide lens, while the front camera remains an 18 MP unit with Center Stage. Under the hood, Apple plans to use its A20 Pro processor built on TSMC’s 2‑nanometre process and packaged with wafer‑level multi‑chip module technology, delivering higher performance and better power efficiency. The phone will be equipped with 12 GB of RAM, a titanium frame, Apple’s next‑generation N2 wireless chip, and a C2 5G modem. These upgrades aim to close the gap between the Air line and Apple’s premium models without sacrificing the ultra‑thin design.
