Apple launches AirPods Max 2 with 24‑bit audio as SoundPEATS releases low‑cost Air6 HS earbuds

Apple introduced the second‑generation AirPods Max headphones, keeping the original over‑ear design but adding a new H2 chip and support for lossless 24‑bit/48 kHz audio via a USB‑C cable. The premium headphones are priced at €549, weigh 385 g and retain the lack of a dedicated power switch. Alongside the hardware, Apple’s iOS 27 beta adds a three‑band equaliser for the AirPods Max 2 and a refreshed control interface.

SoundPEATS announced its Air6 HS semi‑in‑ear earbuds, priced at €37.58. The design echoes the first‑generation Apple AirPods, with a matte case and IPX5 water resistance. Each earbud weighs about 4 g, houses a 13‑mm driver and supports Hi‑Res audio with LDAC, though reviewers note average sound quality, especially in bass and treble. The Air6 HS is positioned as an affordable everyday earbud option.
