Apple Music appears to be rolling out a new logo redesign

Apple appears to be preparing a visual rebranding for Apple Music, moving away from its long-standing minimalist aesthetic toward a bolder, more retro-inspired identity. A redesigned wordmark has been spotted in the iOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 beta versions.

The new design features a lowercase “music” typeface that is significantly heavier and more rounded than the previous San Francisco (SF Pro) font. This new look, characterized by tight letter spacing and an extra-bold weight, evokes a Y2K or vintage music magazine aesthetic rather than a purely technical software feel.

This branding was previously seen in connection with the Apple Music Hall, a new live music venue at London’s Battersea Power Station. While the redesign has appeared in software betas, Apple has not yet officially announced a global rollout or a formal company-wide rebrand.
