Apple partners with CleanMax on Rs 100 crore renewable energy investment in India

Apple announced a Rs 100 crore investment to develop more than 150 MW of renewable energy capacity in India together with CleanMax. The project, expected to generate enough power for roughly 150,000 Indian households annually, supports Apple’s goal of carbon neutrality across its global footprint by 2030 and expands clean‑energy supply for its Indian operations.

In a related amendment to a prior agreement, Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions and Apple India Private Limited will acquire equity in Taurus, with Clean Max holding about 51% and Apple 49%. The amended agreement provides proportionate board representation, lock‑in periods, and transfer restrictions, and includes share‑purchase agreements for Clean Max’s subsidiaries (Clean Max Ganga, Kruger, and Sapphire). The arrangements also contain indemnity provisions and customary reserved‑matter rights.
