Apple releases iOS 27, visionOS 27, and Apple Watch Series 12
Apple has released several major software and hardware updates, including iOS 27, visionOS 27, and the Apple Watch Series 12.
In the software realm, iOS 27 introduces enhanced Siri capabilities with deeper integration into user data like Mail and Messages. The iOS 27.2 beta features the return of context-based ‘Suggestions’ in Messages, which offer one-tap actions for creating reminders or calendar events. Users have reported temporary battery drain following the update, which Apple attributes to background indexing and AI data preparation. Additionally, the new ‘Connectivity Assist’ feature, designed to switch to cellular when Wi-Fi is weak, may also impact battery life.
On the hardware side, the Apple Watch Series 12 features a redesigned sensor system for improved heart rate and health tracking accuracy, including a new Recovery HRV metric. The visionOS 27 update expands the Vision Pro ecosystem by enabling support for third-party motion controllers via infrared and IMU tracking.
Some users have reported connectivity issues with the iPhone 18 Pro Max on certain networks, and Apple Intelligence features are being rolled out gradually, with some components expected later in 2026.
