Apple smartphones stolen from judicial storage in Italy

Several Apple smartphones were stolen from a storage facility in the Asi zone of Giugliano, Italy, which was being used to hold assets seized by judicial authorities. The stolen devices were part of a larger collection of goods, including iPads, MacBooks, and other electronics, intended for judicial auction.

The stolen items were originally seized from Napolitano Store, a business linked to entrepreneur and TikToker Angelo Napolitano. The company had been under investigation by the Nola Prosecutor's Office following a major seizure by the Guardia di Finanza in January. Investigations revealed the company used false invoices and VAT evasion to sell high-end smartphones for cash at below-market prices. The business saw an unusual revenue surge, growing from 2.2 million euros in 2017 to 20.8 million euros in 2023.

Carabinieri from the Giugliano mobile section are currently investigating the theft to determine how the facility was breached and to identify those responsible.
