Apple TV+ Dark Matter Season 2 trailer confirms August 28 premiere

Apple TV+ unveiled the official trailer for the second season of its multiverse drama Dark Matter at San Diego Comic‑Con 2026. The 10‑episode season will debut globally on Friday, 28 August 2026, with new episodes released weekly through 30 October.

The story resumes with physicist Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), his wife Daniela Connelly and son Charlie Fegley as they try to settle in a reality the creator Blake Crouch calls “World 26.” Their fragile peace is shattered when an ominous threat forces the family to flee again. Jason’s obsession with the dimensional device known as the Box deepens, while Daniela’s growing paranoia pushes her to the brink. Supporting characters Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) continue their search for a way home; Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) pursues a vision of a perfect world, and Blair (Amanda Brugel) works to stop him.

Crouch, who also authored the original novel, serves as creator, showrunner and writer for the series. Alongside the season launch, Apple TV+ announced an official companion podcast, “Dark Matter: The Official Podcast,” hosted by Crouch and executive producer Jacquelyn Ben‑Zekry.
