Apple unveils Apple Watch Series 12, Ultra 4, and AirPods 5
Apple has unveiled its latest hardware lineup, featuring the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5. The new smartwatches are centered around a Health Sensing System powered by the S11 and S12 chips, enabling high-frequency heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring.
A key addition is the Readiness app, exclusive to the Series 12 and Ultra 4, which provides a daily score from 0 to 10 to indicate physical preparedness based on activity, vitals, and sleep patterns. The Series 12 features a new four-core neural engine for on-device machine learning, a 3,000-nit OLED display, and improved biometric sensors for blood pressure fluctuations and hydration estimation.
The AirPods 5 introduce improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) through a new internal acoustic architecture and low-noise microphones. While the base model lacks on-stem volume controls, it includes features like Adaptive Audio and Live Translation. Retail availability for the new wearables is scheduled to begin September 18, with pre-orders already available through retailers like Amazon.
