Apple Wallet introduces custom pass creation in iOS 27

iOS 27 introduces a new 'Create a Pass' feature within Apple Wallet, allowing users to manually digitize loyalty cards, membership cards, and tickets that do not have official digital support.

Users can create these custom passes through three primary methods: scanning a physical card using the camera, generating a pass from a photo or screenshot containing a barcode or QR code, or manually entering details into a template. The latter method involving images may require specific hardware, such as iPhone 15 Pro or newer models equipped with Apple Intelligence, and may be subject to regional or language limitations.

While this feature provides a centralized way to manage various barcodes on an iPhone, it is not a full integration with business systems. A custom pass is a digital representation and does not automatically sync with a provider's live data, such as reward balances or membership status. Additionally, compatibility with store scanners is not guaranteed, as some businesses may require their official apps or specific digital formats to process transactions.
