Apple Watch Series 10 features and upcoming watchOS 27 changes

Apple's Apple Watch Series 10 features a thinner 9.7 mm design and is available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes. The 46 mm model offers a 1,220 mm² display area, while the 42 mm version provides 989 mm². Constructed from aluminum or titanium, the device reaches up to 2,000 nits of brightness and is powered by the S10 SiP with a 64-bit dual-core processor. It offers up to 18 hours of normal battery life and supports fast charging, reaching 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes.

Looking ahead to the expected release of watchOS 27 in late September 2026, the operating system is set to introduce significant changes. Reports indicate the removal of the Walkie-Talkie app and the traditional app grid. Additionally, the functionality of the Digital Crown will be altered; the current double-click multitasking gesture will be replaced by a single-click action that opens a new dynamic app grid featuring five app suggestions and a Siri button. These updates are expected to increase hardware requirements for compatible models.
