Greece's Public Employment Service launches applications for 28 nursery schools
From 18:00 on Friday 3 July 2026, the Public Employment Service (ΔΥΠΑ) will open online applications for enrollment and re‑enrollment at its 28 publicly‑run nursery schools for the 2026‑2027 school year. The centres accept children aged six months to four years, operate free of charge, and will close applications at 23:49 on Monday 13 July.
The schools run from 1 September to 31 July, Monday‑Friday 6:45‑16:00, and provide a daily creative‑activity programme aimed at balanced educational and psychophysical development. Eligibility includes parents who are employed under a private‑law contract, insured under e‑EFKA, registered as unemployed for at least three months, or recipients of unemployment benefits. Applicants must also submit a 2025 tax clearance statement (2024 income).
Applications are submitted exclusively through the gov.gr portal (Education → Register for a childcare centre). After the submission period, provisional lists of selected, alternate and excluded children will be posted, and parents may lodge objections. The programme is co‑financed by the EU Social Fund and national resources under the 2021‑2027 ESFA framework.
