Aprilia India launches new SXR GT scooter range

Aprilia India has introduced the all-new SXR GT range of scooters, designed to bridge the gap between urban commuting and highway touring. The launch, led by Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, targets the growing premium scooter market in India, focusing on riders seeking a combination of performance, comfort, and Italian design.

The SXR GT 175 serves as a replacement for the previous SXR 160 model. While it features the largest engine displacement in its class, its air-cooled setup results in a lower power output of 13.3 hp compared to liquid-cooled competitors like the Honda ADV160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. However, it maintains a competitive torque of 14.14 Nm and offers 170 mm of ground clearance.

Key design elements include a maxi-scooter silhouette, a signature tripod LED front light, and updated graphics. The range aims to capitalize on the trend of premiumization within the Indian two-wheeler market.
