Aprilia scooter model expansions

Overview

Aprilia has expanded its scooter offerings in different markets. In India, the company launched the 2026 SXR GT lineup, featuring the SXR GT 125 and the SXR GT 175. These models include 14-inch wheels for improved stability and are BS6 OBD II Stage B compliant.

In a separate development, Aprilia announced the 2027 SR GT 400, an urban adventure scooter equipped with a 399cc engine, inverted forks, and radial brakes. This announcement coincided with Italjet revealing its Roadster 400, a neo-retro scooter scheduled for presentation at EICMA 2026.

In India, the SXR GT range, introduced by Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, is designed to bridge the gap between urban commuting and highway touring. The SXR GT 175 replaces the previous SXR 160 model. While its air-cooled setup produces a power output of 13.3 hp—lower than liquid-cooled competitors such as the Honda ADV160 and Yamaha Aerox 155—it maintains a torque of 14.14 Nm and provides 170 mm of ground clearance. The range features a maxi-scooter silhouette and a signature tripod LED front light.
