Aptera Motors Orders Body and Chassis for First 40 Production Vehicles

Aptera Motors has placed purchase orders for the bodies, frames and suspension components of its first 40 production vehicles, moving from validation builds toward limited customer deliveries. The structural parts are slated to begin arriving in October, and the company already has solar cells sufficient for up to 100 vehicles.

Despite the parts orders, Aptera says production still hinges on securing additional financing, completing testing and obtaining final regulatory approvals. Co‑chief executives Chris Anthony and Steve Fambro described the orders as an encouraging milestone but noted that further components and funding are required before commercial sales can start.
