Apucarana couple arrested for breaking into health unit and stealing computer

A man and a woman were arrested in the early hours of Sunday after breaking into the Takaiti Miyadi Basic Health Unit (UBS) in Apucarana, Paraná.

The theft was discovered when military police officers from the Rocam unit spotted a man carrying a large, bulky bag. Upon inspection, officers found a complete computer setup—including a tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power strip—hidden inside a coat among recyclable materials. The man confessed to the theft and identified a female accomplice.

Police subsequently inspected the health unit and confirmed the main entrance gate had been forced open. The suspects had attempted to conceal the damage by placing a recycling cart in front of the entrance. A woman was found inside one of the offices amidst disconnected cables. Both individuals were caught in the act and taken to the local police station. The Municipal Civil Guard was called to secure the damaged facility.
