ARA Libertad completes 54th Instruction Voyage in Buenos Aires

The Argentine Navy training ship ARA Libertad has returned to the Buenos Aires Naval Shipyard, marking the completion of its 54th Instruction Voyage. The mission, which began in April, served as a professional training period for midshipmen from various naval, infantry, and professional corps promotions.

Under the command of Captain Jorge Gabriel Cáceres, the vessel visited several international ports, with Rio de Janeiro serving as its final foreign destination. During the stop in Brazil, midshipmen participated in professional practices and exchange activities at the Brazilian Naval School. The voyage also included strategic regional dialogue involving naval authorities from Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay to strengthen maritime cooperation in the South Atlantic.

The arrival was attended by Defense Minister Carlos Alberto Presti, along with high-ranking naval and military officials. In his remarks, Presti highlighted the importance of the experience, stating that the crew and midshipmen “represented our country” and were “tempered by the sea.”
