Arab and Islamic Nations Condemn Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir Over Alleged Flotilla Abuse
Israel detained participants of a Gaza‑bound flotilla. During detention, Israeli minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir is alleged to have publicly humiliated the detainees. Eight Arab and Islamic foreign ministries – Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey – issued a joint statement condemning Ben‑Gvir’s conduct as “shameful”, a violation of international humanitarian and human‑rights law, and as an act that fuels hatred and undermines the two‑state peace effort.
The ministers called for accountability, urging Israel to prevent further incitement and to ensure the dignity and humane treatment of all detainees in the occupied Palestinian territories.
