Arab League condemns Israeli escalation in Hebron and West Bank

The Arab League has issued a condemnation regarding the escalation of Israeli actions in Hebron and across the occupied West Bank. The organization specifically cited threats to evacuate and destroy Palestinian neighborhoods, the forced displacement of residents, and attacks on citizens, property, and religious sites.

In a statement, the League noted that the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque and the obstruction of worshippers' access constitute violations of religious freedom and legal obligations under international law. The organization warned that these practices, including settlement expansion and displacement policies, risk exacerbating conditions in the West Bank and could constitute war crimes or crimes against humanity under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The Arab League called upon the international community and the UN Security Council to take urgent action to protect Palestinian civilians and ensure accountability for these violations. It reaffirmed that the West Bank is an integral part of Palestinian land and emphasized that efforts to alter its demographic and geographic character hold no legal legitimacy.
