Overview
The Arab League has expressed increasing concern over regional instability involving Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. The League warned that attempts to introduce Jewish prayer books (Siddur) into the Al-Aqsa Mosque could alter the site’s historical status. Furthermore, the organization has denounced the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and increased military restrictions in the West Bank, warning that forced displacements and attacks on religious sites could constitute ‘war crimes or crimes against humanity’ under the Fourth Geneva Convention.
