Arab League meeting in Jordan tackles Libya and Palestine crises

Foreign ministers of Arab League member states gathered in Amman, Jordan, for the 165th ministerial session to coordinate a unified diplomatic response to two major regional conflicts. The agenda centred on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, with discussions on securing ceasefire measures, delivering unhindered aid and pursuing a two‑state solution, as well as on Libya’s stalled political transition, electoral delays and the need for a stable, unified government.

Libya sent a delegation headed by acting foreign minister Taher Salem Al‑Baour and permanent representative Abdel Motaleb Idris Thabet, underscoring its commitment to active participation in Arab coordination. The meeting aimed to strengthen Arab solidarity, enhance political and security cooperation, and develop actionable frameworks that could be presented to international partners such as the UN and the EU.
