Arab League ministers to meet in Cairo to discuss regional crises

Arab foreign ministers are scheduled to convene in Cairo this coming Monday for the 166th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. The meeting aims to coordinate Arab positions regarding rapid regional developments and escalating security challenges.

Key agenda items include the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian cause, specifically addressing humanitarian impacts and rejecting displacement plans. Ministers will also discuss Iranian military actions targeting several Arab nations, maritime security, and the protection of international trade and energy routes.

Additional regional crises on the agenda include the conflicts in Sudan, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Somalia. The session follows preparatory meetings held by the Council’s permanent delegates. Tunisia is set to assume the presidency of the ministerial council for the upcoming term, succeeding Bahrain.
