Arab League rejects efforts to alter Palestinian geography

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has rejected all attempts to alter the geographic and demographic reality of Palestine. During a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Fahmy emphasized that preventing such changes is a shared responsibility of both the Arab world and the international community.

Fahmy called for collective action to halt Israeli government plans to annex the West Bank. He specifically cited the intensification of settlement activities, resident displacements, land seizures, and the siege and isolation of Palestinian cities as primary concerns. He noted that resisting these actions is a duty for all parties supporting a two-state solution.

President Abbas discussed the Palestinian leadership's priorities and explored methods to leverage growing international public support for the Palestinian cause. Fahmy reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian struggle to the Arab League and stressed the need for a serious, sustainable final resolution to the issue.
