Aragon winter cereal harvest forecast of 2.83 Mt faces Ice Saints frost risk

Spain's agricultural union ASAJA predicts a winter cereal harvest of 2.83 million tonnes in the Aragon region, noting that favorable winter rains, unusually warm April temperatures, and sharply higher production costs have shaped this campaign.

Meteorological experts warn that the upcoming "Santos del Hielo" (Ice Saints) cold spell expected early May could bring polar-like temperatures and late frosts, posing a threat to the crops and potentially reducing the projected yield.
