Venezuela implements regional health and social assistance programs

Various regional governments in Venezuela have implemented widespread social and health assistance programs across multiple states.

In Aragua, health deployments provided over 3,500 benefits, including 651 medical consultations, vaccinations, and the distribution of 11,650 medication doses. Specialized ophthalmological services at the Centro Oftalmológico Regional de Aragua (CORA) resulted in 79 surgeries for conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma. Additionally, medical-surgical attention was provided to female officers of the Zamora Municipal Police.

In Yaracuy, a regional health plan has completed over 500 free ophthalmic surgeries, with a target of 1,000 by year-end. In the Iribarren municipality, 474 technical aids including wheelchairs, canes, and corrective lenses were distributed to citizens in Barquisimeto.

Social welfare initiatives for the elderly were also highlighted. In Lamas, more than 200 seniors received medical and aesthetic services, while in Barinas, 90 elderly residents were provided with personal care services. In Monagas, 250 seniors in Caripito received food packages and nutritional supplements through the Gran Misión Abuelos y Abuelas de la Patria.

Other community activities included a recreational vacation plan for children of Mercal workers in Guárico.
