Venezuela healthcare infrastructure upgrades

The Venezuelan government has initiated extensive rehabilitation projects for healthcare infrastructure in Caracas. Specific efforts include work at the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Hospital and the El Algodonal Complex, involving repairs to roofs, waterproofing, sewage line upgrades, and the installation of new medical equipment and air conditioning.

Following these targeted renovations, Venezuelan health institutions have reported an overall increase in medical activity and improvements to infrastructure and services. In Monagas state, the Hospital Universitario "Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar" (HUMNT) recorded significant activity between July 30 and August 7, 2026, including over 3,500 general clinical consultations, 1,98 surgical interventions, and 1,426 emergency room visits. During this period, the hospital also processed over 1,500 laboratory samples and distributed thousands of medications and medical supplies.

Additionally, the Centro de Diagnóstico Integral (CDI) Hugo Chávez in La Victoria has reopened following an investment of over 400,000 euros. The facility's renovation involved structural repairs, electrical updates, and new climate control systems. The center now features a surgical area and specialized services, including ophthalmology, dentistry, endoscopy, and radiology, with the capacity to serve approximately 3,296 patients monthly.
