Araguaína prepares major gastronomic festival and 36th cavalgada

The municipality of Araguaína is organizing two large public events. A first Gastronomic Festival will be held from 25 to 27 September at the city convention centre, featuring regional cuisine competitions, musical performances by Biquíni Cavadão and the duo Anavitória, and aims to boost tourism and the local economy. Mayor Wagner Rodrigues highlighted the festival’s role in promoting local talent and generating revenue.

In June, the city will host the 36th edition of its traditional cavalgada on 7 June. Municipal agencies, including the Security, Transport and Traffic Agency and the Municipal Guard, are coordinating traffic control, safety measures, and environmental oversight to ensure a smooth passage for the estimated 5 000 riders and visitors. Permits for tents and rules for road closures have been outlined to protect public order and animal welfare.
